Initiatives to protest the reckless spending on Psychologica

Postby TCMG on Wed Apr 06, 2011 10:56 am

What are the current AbleChild Initiatives to PROTEST to legislators about about how it is imperative to cut the budgets for education that are devoted to psychological testing of students for ADHD??? and aspbergers?

Schools should NOT be engaged in ineffective psychological testing. The results and the evidence do not show that this approach has efficacy.

Struggling students should be offered help, but they should not be forced to submit to expensive psychological tests. Cut that fat! Pharmaceutical lobbyists have had too much influence on the education of students with poor results.

Is there a petition on the AbleChild.org website that we can sign electronically? Decisions are being made RIGHT now about cutting the spending. Sorry if I overlooked it somewhere on this website.

PS It would be much better to cut the budgets that involve the psychological testing of students rather than cutting salaries for teachers, eliminating teacher jobs... and/or alsochanging the current course and making class sizes much larger. The ROI for cuttung the spending for the psychological tests could be measurable. This is a prime opportunity for ablechild.org to voice protest about the current practices.
